Joy Afekafe, a 14-year-old girl, has been arrested and admitted to her involvement in the killing of Dr. Fumilola Adefolalu, a lecturer at the Federal University of Technology, Minna. Joy claimed she assaulted the lecturer after being asked to leave her house, where she had lived for three weeks with the promise of sponsoring her education.
Joy, accompanied by two classmates named Walex and Smart, went to confront the lecturer but decided to murder her during the assault to prevent her from reporting them. They beat and stabbed Dr. Adefolalu multiple times before stealing her belongings and fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
The police have arrested Joy and are actively pursuing her accomplices, Walex and Smart. The case is being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
